Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, provide a better browsing experience, and supply information to the site owners.

Cookies can be "persistent" (remaining on your device until they expire or you delete them) or "session-based" (deleted when you close your browser). They can also be "first-party" (set by the website you are visiting) or "third-party" (set by a domain other than the one you are visiting).

In addition to cookies, we also use localStorage, a browser-based storage mechanism that allows websites to store data locally on your device. Unlike cookies, localStorage data is not sent to the server with each request.

2. How We Use Cookies

AutoPress (autopress.dev) uses cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Authenticate your identity and keep you securely logged in
  • Remember your preferences, such as your chosen display theme
  • Understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it
  • Deliver relevant advertisements through our advertising partners

3. Types of Cookies We Use

3.1 Essential Cookies

These cookies are strictly necessary for the operation of our platform. Without them, you would not be able to log in or use core features of AutoPress. Essential cookies cannot be disabled.

Cookie Name Purpose Duration Provider
sb-access-token Authenticates your identity and verifies your session with our authentication provider. 1 hour Supabase
sb-refresh-token Renews your authentication session automatically so you do not have to log in repeatedly. 7 days Supabase
token Maintains your logged-in state across pages and requests within the application. Session AutoPress

3.2 Preference Cookies

Preference cookies allow us to remember choices you make so we can provide a more personalized experience. These are stored using your browser's localStorage rather than as traditional cookies.

Storage Key Purpose Duration Type
theme Remembers your preferred display theme (light or dark mode) so it persists across visits. Persistent localStorage

3.3 Analytics Cookies

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website so we can improve page performance, navigation, onboarding, and product messaging.

AutoPress uses Google Tag Manager to load analytics tools, including Google Analytics where configured, after a visitor accepts optional cookies. These tools may set cookies such as _ga and related identifiers to distinguish visits and measure aggregate usage. Google explains how it uses cookies and similar technologies in Google's cookie documentation.

3.4 Advertising Cookies

We use Google AdSense and Monetag to display advertisements on our website and, for free accounts, inside the AutoPress application. These advertising partners may set cookies, scripts, push-notification technology, or similar technologies to serve ads, measure ad performance, limit repeated impressions, and detect invalid traffic. These cookies enable advertising partners to:

  • Serve ads based on your previous visits to autopress.dev and other websites
  • Limit the number of times you see a particular ad
  • Measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns
  • Understand user behavior to improve ad targeting

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also visit www.aboutads.info/choices to opt out of third-party advertising cookies from many other providers.

4. Third-Party Cookies

In addition to the cookies we set directly, third-party services integrated into AutoPress may place their own cookies on your device. We do not have direct control over these cookies. The third-party services we use include:

  • Supabase — Sets authentication cookies to manage your login session. For details, see the Supabase Privacy Policy.
  • Stripe — May set cookies for fraud detection and payment security when you interact with payment forms. For details, see the Stripe Privacy Policy.
  • Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics — May set cookies or similar identifiers to measure site usage, traffic sources, and product events. For details, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
  • Google AdSense — Sets cookies for ad personalization and performance measurement. For details, see the Google Advertising Privacy Policy.
  • Monetag — May set cookies, scripts, push-notification identifiers, or similar identifiers for ad delivery, frequency capping, performance measurement, and fraud prevention on free-account advertising placements. For details, see the Monetag Privacy Policy.

We encourage you to review the privacy and cookie policies of these third-party services for more information about how they use cookies.

5. Managing Cookies

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically find these options in the "Settings," "Preferences," or "Privacy" section of your browser. Here is how to manage cookies in the most common browsers:

  • Google Chrome — Go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data.
  • Mozilla Firefox — Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data.
  • Safari — Go to Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data.
  • Microsoft Edge — Go to Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data.

You can also clear localStorage data through your browser's developer tools (usually accessible via F12) under the "Application" or "Storage" tab.

Please note that disabling or deleting essential cookies will prevent you from logging in to AutoPress and using core features of the platform. Blocking third-party cookies may affect the display of advertisements but will not impact your ability to use the Service.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, the third-party services we integrate with, or applicable legal requirements. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
